In lieu of celebrating my unmentionable age birthday, I’ve been feeling very beachy lately maybe its because pastels are in for spring and all I’ve been staring at for months is a lovely mint green? Who knows… but I am really looking forward to warmer weather (only like 8 degrees warmer but none-the-less), palm trees, and the awesome nightlife. The countdown to my birthday “vacation” starts now. Bring on LA!

When your honorary “photographer” goes on a 5 week trip to India, I have to resort to selfies. I’m slightly ashamed in myself for posting these but as my friend texted me this morning “just to let you know, I went on your blog and you haven’t posted”. My thought “oh god…. I know. Just didn’t know other people were noticing”. So let’s get back into the swing of things shall we.

After spending my one day off watching the Superbowl, I definitely had a case of the Mondays today. For those of you that haven’t seen Office Space, please watch it and you will understand. I’m sure the rest of the world is feeling the same. Due to the lack of sleep and maybe even a lack of motivation, it was a cozy sweater and comfy boot kind of day.
Line is one of my favourite Canadian brands. Their sweaters are drapy, warm and unique. There is no comparison to Line sweaters on the market. I’m always freezing (obviously cold blooded 
) so finding a sweater that actually lets me retain heat is out of this world. I’m not the only one that thinks this… Giulianna Rancic and Katie Holmes share my love.

Who has a white party in the middle of winter? Well, we do. It was all types of madness and crazy chaos in a good way. The hunt was on for an all white outfit that I knew no one else would have. It was a bit of short notice for the theme, so after a 30 minute rush shopping job I found a pair of cigarette pants and used a shirt I already owned.
I’d like to say that the intense game of flip cup wasn’t one of our brightest moments. Nothing like playing a drinking game with coloured beverages wearing all white. Picture a painting class … that’s what our outfits looked like after. Thank god for Forever21. Those pants are not salvageable.

No one does printed tee’s quite like Wildfox Couture. It’s a cute play on fashion. No need to be so serious all the time. Have a little fun!
If printed tee’s aren’t your thing…. then need not worry. Wildfox is also known for their “spot on” bathing suits. Their trendy, sexy and practical. There is nothing worse then flashing the world while playing beach volleyball or attempting to wave jump in Mexico. We girls have to think about these things. That cute triangle bikini you bought when you were 15 probably needs to be upgraded… small may mean less tan lines but it does not guarantee coverage. This isn’t Wreck Beach. Just sayin’….
The Los Angeles based line debuted their Spring 2013 lookbook which was AWESOME! Common…. what girl didn’t want to be Cher Horowitz? I still dream about that silk sheer Calvin Klein Blouse she wore to “attempt” to get her drivers license. And I’m pretty sure we’ve all used a line or two in our daily conversations. As if…..
Prepare to bring back the 90′s.

Having a sister myself I know that there is a special bond that cannot be broken. My sister and I feed off each other, we propel each other forward and have some sort of weird twin thing even though we’re 7 years apart.
I wanted to shed some light on the fashionable sister acts out there. I’m assuming most of you are fully aware of them but I’m going to showcase them none-the-less.
Who didn’t grow up watching Full House? – A random sister fact… I was named Michelle by my lovely sister because she was obsessed with Full House Mary-Kate and Ashley may have missed their childhood due to being awesome, but the twins have grown up and shed their childhood star persona. The world now views MK & A as serious fashionistas and business women. Good for them!

Model sisters…… Cara & Poppy Delevigne. You can tell Cara is the wild one and Poppy is the more conservative older sister but both have killer style. I’d take Cara’s eyebrows. There is a third sister, Chloe, who is kind of hidden from the British Socialite scene.

I couldn’t not include the Kardashian sisters. Some may hate them, some may love them, but all I can say is they all have great hair, perfect complexions, are business savvy and well, I just love Kim and Yeezy together. Can’t wait to see little Kimye!

Well it’s time to say goodbye to Christmas and hello to 2013. Time flies doesn’t it? A new year always brings the sheer thought of “what next”. Someone once told me that “if your not learning; your not growing and if your not growing your dying.” I remember politely chuckling at the quote and not thinking about it too much. A day or so later that quote popped back into my head and I finally heard what he was saying. I pondered it for awhile… and awhile longer and realized that I needed to make some changes. It was time to move forward and try something new. With that intent.. I signed up for school and am taking a few sort of random courses in different fields to broaden my horizons and figure out what’s next on my docket. A new year means a clean slate. Right?

I’ve never been a NYE party planner. I’m pretty easy going. If someone is throwing a party – great! If my friends want to go to some swanky party – wonderful! I’m open to suggestions, but my one rule of thumb is no matter where I go, I will always be dressed to the nines. I don’t care if I’m on top of Big White in 5 feet of snow… I’ll be wearing sequins. Some of my best friends are up on top of a mountain in a huge cabin partying their faces off and snowboarding all day. Not bitter at all.

This past Sunday my best friend, Andrea (aka. AngeeB) decided to throw a nail art party. Yes… you read right. A Nail Art Party. What has the world come to? I blame the tupperware and botox parties for the influx of slightly silly yet awesome reasons for gathering with your best friends on a Sunday night. I’ll take full advantage of any party that doesn’t involve a needle. Let’s just say, if it were a botox party I’d be the one passed out on the floor. I have a fear of needles. tmi?
We made chai tea, sat on the couch and watched Elf while she did my nails. I wanted something that was sophisticated and classy. I really wanted something fun like dancing snowmen but quickly realized that would probably be inappropriate for Christmas parties.
A few of my favourite holiday “classic” nail trends to try…
Essie – Mademoiselle & OPI – Sparkle-icious – To create an even diagonal line use scotch tape and once you’ve put the glitter coat (a generous layer) slowly peel back the tape so your mademoiselle stays in tact. Also, sidenote: make sure your base coat is really dry not at all tacky.
I have something similar to this right now on my nails, but this is more an invert French Manicure. I think I’ll do this for NYE! It’s Essie – Lion Around & Essie -Set in Stones

I’m literally snowed in my house right now which gives me tons of time to catch up on my PVR and to read all my favourite blogs. On twitter this morning I saw this little holiday cheer video that turned my frown upside down (being snowed in is stressful).
FashionWeekNYC on twitter recently asked “if you could have dinner with any two designers who would it be?” Leaving it open to dead or alive, I chose Alexander McQueen and Rebecca Minkoff. Rebecca is a true inspiration for all young designers out there. Love her! And a video with Hilary Rhoda, The Man Repeller, Odette Annabel, Bryan Boy and DJ Cassidy = Amazing!

The serious fur vest debacle of 2012. To purchase or not to purchase. That is was the question. I had my eye on the Talula (Park Slope Vest) one but instead decided to go cheap since how many times am I going to wear it? – Little did I know that it would become my new favourite piece. Not only do I look like a wolly mammoth but also to the touch it feels like a teddy bear. A plush teddy bear – so soft. At times I feel like a zoo animal. I should start charging the people in line at Coffee Bar who ask if they can feel it. A loonie per 10 second pet – it’s weird.
